2014 iNSD Designer Blog Hop

insd2014_600px

Hello, and welcome to my blog, and the last stop on the 2014 P&Co iNSD Designer Blog Hop! (Looking for the DigiScrap Parade? You might want to read this post first, and then click here.)

You’ve worked your way through the blogs, collecting numbers and letters and learning fabulous things along the way, right? (In case you ended up here by mistake, click here to start at the beginning.)

Before I give you the last bit of the coupon code, here’s a couple of things. First of all, I’d like to point you all in the direction of a recent recoloring tutorial I did on the P&Co blog, and the coordinating watercolor alpha freebie you can use to practice the technique. It’s a super fun one, and I hope you all enjoy it!

Next, I’ve got a great mix of Grab Bags in the shop, and you can get some great deals on many of my kits. Whether you want a Manstache (with bigger kits) or are content with a Boystache (with smaller kits), I’ve got you set!

manstash-600 boystash-600I’ve also got a new kit up for the May Stash, and it’s a fun one! Check out Gellies, v.1, and then go see the rest of the May Stash, too! There are some amazing products in there!

Looking for a gift for Mom? If you place an order with Persnickety Prints this Saturday, you’ll get this 5×7 print free, and it’s ready-to-frame and gift!

persnickety_insd Like the looks? It coordinates with Julep, one of my favorite kits, and – like everything else – it’s on sale this weekend!

And lastly, I’m hosting a fun little game in the P&Co forum this weekend. Hop on over if you’re up for a challenge, because one person will win a $25 gift certificate to my store! That’s it for me, except… Oh, yes. That last bit of the coupon code! *wink* Just a couple of quick reminders:

  • You should have a total of 14 letters and 3 numbers, including the one you get here. If you missed one, click back through the list I included above.
  • Make sure that Bermuda Triangle is the only thing in your cart.
  • Use all uppercase letters, and no spaces.
  • Be sure you enter the coupon code in the “coupon” field, and not the “gift certificate” field.
  • If you have any issues, you can email me at helpme[at]pixelsandcompany[dot]com.
  • The coupon code is only valid through May 31, so don’t delay!bloghop2

I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog hop as much as we have! Happy iNSD!

Piccadilly – A P&Co Blog Hop Collab

dsd13_600Oh, yeah.

It’s time for another blog hop, and you are in for a treat. Every time I make one of these collaboration previews, I think, “Yes. This one is my favorite.” But, FOR REAL. This one, Piccadilly, is MY FAVORITE!

pco_piccadilly_previewSeriously, I am so lucky to be able to work with such amazing designers. Like, pinch myself, because I’m not altogether sure I’m awake. My portion of this fantastic collab is pictured here:

gen_piccadilly_previewYes, I realize I have a fixation with gold right now, but I’m loving the luxe feel it adds to just about everything. Makes me feel all ritzy-like.

Before we get on with it, I have just a couple of things I’d like to share with you. First, I’ve got a Name That Kit contest running on my FB page, but the deadline is coming up. If you haven’t played along, it’s easy. Post a suggestion here with the title you’d like to see on an upcoming kit. I’ll choose a few of my favorites, and we’ll have a public vote. The winner gets to art direct it… You choose the color, theme, and overall feel of the kit, and when it’s ready to release, you’ll get it free!

I’ve also got a fun little mini kit available for free on My Scrapbook Art’s Facebook page. Click over, like their page if you haven’t already, and snag More Cowbell today.

gb_morecowbell_previewLast thing: Be sure to check back tomorrow, because I have another sweet mini kit I’m giving away as part of the DigiScrap Parade’s November blog hop!

Today’s tip is more of a challenge… And there’s a prize involved, so pay attention. One of the recurring things I hear about from paper scrapbookers is that they love the feel of paper, and they could never give it up. Well, I’m not going to try to convince them, because you and I both know that the benefits of digital far outweigh any (perceived) cons. But, here’s the thing: If we’re being honest, that tactile sense is really hard to duplicate in digital.

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of adding non-paper elements to my kits, and that’s because as a scrapper I love the effect. I think we’ve all come across those pages that look so fantastic, so real, that we reach out to try and touch it. We all know shadows are important when it comes to creating that effect, and we all know that I love me some shadowing, but we’re going to ignore that for today.

So, are you ready? I challenge you to create a texturally diverse layout. And, because it’s only fair for me to play along, here’s my layout:

still-copyWhat do you think? Even without any color, it’s visually interesting because of all the different textures. Can you do it? Think beyond paper, and really stretch yourself… Put it in any gallery, using any products by any designer. Post your link here by November 15, and one of you will get a $50 gift certificate to my store.

Alright, folks… Ready to grab Piccadilly? I’m the last stop, which means you’re a hop, skip, and a jump (see what I did there?) away from pure awesomeness. Some boring, yet vital detail stuff first:

Coupon code is 20 characters and spells out a phrase. Please enter the code in the “coupon” field (not the “gift certificate” field) with NO SPACES and in LOWERCASE LETTERS.

In order for the coupon code to discount correctly, Piccadilly MUST BE ORDERED SEPARATELY, WITH NO OTHER PRODUCTS.

The last letter you need is:
